As you might notice by my name, I am Italian; but I also fluently speak Dutch, English, French and some Spanish.
From an early age, I trained in classical ballet and modern dance, and worked as a professional dancer and choreographer in Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands. I also studied and worked as a teacher at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts.
During my dance career I was always interested in how the human body works and how to keep it healthy. I got particularly interested in how human beings cope with distress, such as mental stress, pain, and negative circumstances. Starting with myself, I figured out how stress affects the body and how I could use my body to relieve it. I decided to use this knowledge and experience for my new profession.
I specialized in somatic care and studied VMI Somatic Practice with Patricia Bardi in Amsterdam. In 2016, I officially registered as a paramedical naturopathic therapist at the Dutch professional organization BATC (Beroepen & Belangen Associatie voor Natuurgerichte Therapeuten & Consumenten).
Since movement is my first nature, I also certified in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® movement method.
I run my private practice as part of the Movement Re-Training Center in Rotterdam in collaboration with Robert Hlatky, former dancer at Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and dance teacher at the Rotterdam Dance Academy Codarts, dance movement therapist and GYROTONIC® master trainer. Our center specializes in training, rehabilitation, prevention and integrative care, and provides GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® teacher training.
As a natural medicine therapist, I find it very rewarding to be able to fully integrate somatic care with mainstream healthcare to stimulate healing and promote a healthy lifestyle.
